testing for america
Testing for America (TFA) is a nonprofit established by leading scientists, academics, and entrepreneurs. TFA's mission is to permanently and safely reopen schools, businesses and the U.S. economy by providing affordable, accessible and frequent testing and screening of the COVID-19 virus. Recognizing that Black and Latinx communities across the U.S. have been disproportionately affected by the health and economic crises caused by COVID-19, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and United Negro College Fund have partnered with TFA to help safely reopen 80 HBCUs during the pandemic.

college tour program
The Alpha Light Fund views post-secondary education as a critical contributor to young African-American’s financial success and self-determination. Through college tours, the Alpha Light Fund hopes to inspire students to pursue a college degree and imagine their limitless potential. The Program provides students with exposure to the college environment via visitations and on-campus activities, such as meeting Black students and professors. The participating academic institutions, including HBCUs, have unique settings, academic offerings, and extra-curricular activities. Subsequent mentoring programs smooth the transition to college life and help students manage their new responsibilities.
